How Industrial Grinders Reviews Products

Dale Kosmicki, Founder & Editor
How we sort through the grinders so you don't have to — this page explains the criteria behind every recommendation on IndustrialGrinders.

What this site does

IndustrialGrinders is an editorial resource for people who make their living with abrasives. After 28 years on shop floors — as a machinist, a tool-room supervisor, and an operations manager — I built this site to cut through the marketing noise. We read every spec sheet we can find, weigh the real-world trade-offs, and present what matters most: duty cycle, motor delivery, warranty support, and whether the machine will actually run on the voltage you’ve got. This is a peer-to-peer guide, not a catalog. We're opinionated about value, and we point out when a cheaper option is perfectly fine.

How we evaluate

  • Motor specs — amp draw, duty cycle rating, and phase requirements
  • Build quality — cast-iron base vs. stamped sheet metal
  • Wheel and arbor compatibility across common sizes
  • Real-world usability — guard removal, switch location, and dust management
